Oct 19, 2014 · My family has been in the dump truck business for over 70 years. My dad had a dump truck for over 25 years I even had my own for 2 years. Dump truckin is a ruff business. If your friend thinks 1 truck is going to pay for the next he is mistaken. The profit is very VERY small. Around philly PA a driver can get anywhere from 18-21hr.

Dec 26, 2015 · Location: Lee,NH. In Maine I believe you can only register a 10 wheeler for 55,000 lbs, basically a 12 yard load. Companies such as Pike hire a lot of trucks to haul mix during paving season and they are pretty much all Tri Axles. Jun 20, 2007 · I never drove a dump with bag suspension but have been told you need to drop the bags before the box goes up. Dump trucks can roll over quickly before you know it your laying on the side whoops One of the local contractors bought a used dump on air ride suspension had a novice driver on it the first day the driver blew both rear bags.

Dump trucks also need to abide by HOS. Not sure about the other 2 questions, but I dont think there would be much money in dump truck as I see alot of them hiring for $18 an hr in my area. We had a member who drives dump truck let me try to find their post about it.
